FUN FACTS ABOUT KARA :)

Want to learn fun facts about Kara? Check out 3 below!

  • Kara is drawn to all things purple… anything and everything!

  • Kara has A LOT of purple flowers in her garden. Who could’ve guessed it?! ;)

  • Kara and her husband have been growing vegetable gardens for over 10 years.

BLOOMING JOY FLOWER COMPANY

Kara is no stranger to cultivating gardens. Together with her husband, Kara has many years of experience in growing vegetable gardens. As she grew these vegetable gardens, she originally did not include flowers in her practice. All that changed after her beloved mother, Joy, passed away. As years went by after her mother’s passing, Kara felt a pull on her heartstrings that she was to master the skills of growing cut flowers so that she could bring joy to those around her. Thereafter this revelation, Kara founded what is now her incredible business, Blooming Joy Flower Co. It warms my heart to learn that her business was named after her dearest mother.

Kara’s journey of learning how to master cut flower farming has been shared via social media from the very start. She has found inspiration from her very own garden after walking through it and admiring all of its beauty fully blooming. This inspiration sparked her urge to master cut flower farming and floral design creation. She knows how much hard work it takes to run both a farm and full blown flower production. She is no stranger to long hours of physical labor tending to her farm and taking care of her gardens. Her interest in perennial plants led her to plan over 1,000 perennials all over her property during the pandemic. As a result these blooms were a vision! Even several TV shows came out to film all of the beauty of her gardens.

Kara is most proud of her ability to inspire others to cultivate their very own cutting gardens as well as the success they have found. To bring and share joy with people through cut flowers is her driving force and motivation. It is what has led her to create some wonderful flower friendships all around the world.

Her tip for anyone looking to get into cut flower growing is to “start small.”. It can be easy to fall into the mindset of buying every pretty flower out there and all of the other items you might think of but that is not effective when just starting out. Instead, she recommends starting easy with the practice of direct sowing of simple blooms like zinnias, cosmos, and pollen-less sunflowers. Understanding the basics is where you will have confidence and the capabilities for when it comes time to grow, harvest, sell, arrange flowers, and more!

My ultimate goal is bringing joy through cut flowers.
