Business Essentials: Tips For Creating Style Boards + Proposals For Your Ideal Clients

Hey Fleursociety!

For the month of August we have been talking all about Consultations + Proposals. These two components of your business are so important when working to create that ideal client experience. Consultations allow you to show your clients who you are, what you do, how you do what you do and why you do what you do. This part of your process is where you work to understand and get to know your clients a bit better. Taking the time to then take the information you have gathered and present that through your style boards and proposals is really where the magic happens and your clients can get a taste of what you have to offer!

This week we are breaking things down with some helpful tips and best practices on creating style boards and proposals for your ideal clients. We love sharing this kind of information and knowledge because we know how daunting this process can be. (Believe us, we’ve been there!) Being a part of this community where we can learn from one another and grow with each other is so rewarding for us. We are so happy to have you here!

ASK YOURSELF

Take a few moments and ask yourself the following questions…

HOW DO I CREATE PROPOSALS?
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE ME TO WRITE PROPOSALS?
DO I PRESENT A STYLE BOARD?
WHEN IN MY PROCESS DO I PRESENT?

Asking yourself these questions will help jump start your thinking on what your process looks like. Is there room for improvement? Are there areas where you feel like you’re struggling? Are there areas where you feel confident or lack confidence? Well, if there’s one thing we can say it’s that you’re never alone in these thoughts. What we hope for you, is that you can walk away with some helpful tips to further you along your proposal process and get you closing the deals you so desire and work so hard for.

If there is one takeaway for you this week, we hope you understand the importance of streamlining your processes. Are you looking to cut down on the time you spend in certain areas like proposals and presentations? Are you wanting to convert more sales? LET’S TALK ABOUT THE PROCESS

Let’s get you on track and running a smooth sailing ship. We do not want you to lose out on any more sales and deals! You work hard and we know how much time, effort, blood, sweat and tears goes into running a business. Take care of your business and your business will take care of you.

We are breaking down 5 components to take into account when it comes to your style board and the things to focus on to elevate your process.

1. BE PROFESSIONAL

How often do you bad mouth a business related experience where the person or people were professional? Probably never right? Being professional goes such a long way. It sets the tone for your meeting, showcases your skills, allows clients to be understood in their wants and needs and allows you to provide a healthy channel of communication. Being professional, showing up on time, knowing your stuff, being confident and being humble are keys to elevating your clients experience.

2. SHOW VISUAL REPRESENTATION

Now I don’t know about you but getting a visual representation helps so much when working to understand or see a project. Viisual learning is so valuable as it provides understanding from both the buyer and the seller, highlights creativity, sets expectations and offers limited pricing.

3. COMMUNICATION IS KEY

What is that saying? In order to have a healthy relationship, communication is key. Whether that be personal or business related, communication is key. Communicating in your process will allow you to share your overall aesthetic, speak the language your clients will understand, listen to ideas and opinions, translate their needs and show a greater understanding.

4. CREATIVITY IS A MUST

Creativity is the opportunity to showcase your artistry, talents, efforts, etc., By including creativity you are able to showcase your skills, ideas, sketches, share your unique factor and what makes you special and allows you to personalize your process.

5. PRIORITIZE CLIENT EXPERIENCE

Focusing on client experience and promoting a seamless journey for your clients is how you keep business alive and thriving. Within the client experience portion of your process set the tone for your meeting, be prepared, listen, communicate, establish your expertise, educate your clients and take accountability and responsibility for your work.

Taking time to incorporate these areas into your style boards will not only show your clients that you mean business but this will also increase your confidence and comfortability when it comes to style boards. Don’t forget that style boards are intended to show off style. Show your clients the work they desire but stay true to your mission and who you are as an artist!
