LEARN ABOUT OUR MARCH EDUCATOR OF THE MONTH
Anne of Anne van Midden Floral Design is based in the beautiful Netherlands. Shortly after receiving her bachelor’s degree in Styling and Design, Anne started up her business back in 2012. As life threw some detours in her direction, Anne noticed weddings no longer served her creatively once she found her way to flowers. She was simply captivated by them. Her love for flowers grew to a place where she longed to learn as much as she could about them.
When it comes to her talent and skill level, Anne is a self-taught artist. Through years of honing her craft, she has developed her own style, which today is admired by so many. Her love of nature can be observed in the way she speaks of floral design, creativity, and art. We were fortunate enough to have her as an educator for our 2021 Fall Design Summit and she was without a doubt a crowd favorite. Not just for simply being a creative genius but for being such a warm and sweet soul.
Her floral work involves creating installations for different brands and photoshoots as well as creating for the magic of art itself! You can find her teaching natural floral design to her flower-loving students both in her studio as well as virtually. She has a great deal of honor for nature. In her studio, you will not find a single piece of floral foam, bleached flowers, or dyed flowers. Instead, Anne sources seasonal and local flowers as often as she can.
Her style can best be described as “very natural and whimsical but with a raw edge.” She describes her style as something born of a fairytale that has taken flight into the real world. She has a desire to create “dream worlds” that are blended with the rawness of life itself.

Anne finds it a whole lot easier to teach in English rather than in Dutch. People oftentimes are surprised to learn that Anne is in fact Dutch. The province she currently resides in is the province she has always lived in.
Anne learned English from watching MTV, Cartoon Network, and her high school teacher.
Anne enjoys using flower frogs when it comes to design but do not put an actual frog anywhere near her as the fear is real, y’all.

When it comes to running her business, Anne finds that having the ability to pivot and change directions is her biggest asset. Being able to let go of certain things that no longer serve the season she is in has allowed her the space to bring in the things that feed her creatively and passionately.
Anne knows just how powerful the flower community is and through it has formed wonderful friendships and relationships with other flower lovers both near and far. This community really is all about community over competition and building each other up. Anne is all about supporting each other and gaining inspiration from others yet also works to focus her efforts and attention on her own journey.
Diving into her biggest achievement, Anne’s online flower school is run solely by Anne. When it comes to the filming, the teaching, the editing, everything, and anything more, Anne does it all! Anne is not just self-taught when it comes to floral design, as she has learned how to film, edit and teach on her own as well.
What Anne finds most rewarding about her online floral school is observing her members grow and find their confidence through her teachings. Anne offers flower classes on bouquets, tablescapes, floristry 101, and more! Looking for online mentoring sessions? Anne’s got you covered with single sessions or a mentorship program. Additionally, Anne offers 1-on-1 floral design classes that are private and personalized, teach all about refining your work, learning foam-free techniques, investing in your skills, and so much more!
