Fleursociety’s December Educator Of The Month Featuring The Wild Mother
Hey Fleursociety!
Today we are sharing all about our December Educator of the month, The Wild Mother!
We are excited to introduce to you this incredible trio of sisters who come to us from Oklahoma City. Each bringing their own unique skill sets, creativity and voice, the sisters that make up The Wild Mother have a gift of storytelling and changing lives using natural blooms and elements.
We are so blessed to have such wonderful people as a part of our Fleursociety Community and we are so excited for you to learn more about our December Educator Feature of the month, The Wild Mother.
GET TO KNOW THE WILD MOTHER :)
Operating out of Oklahoma City’s Arts District, The Wild Mother is a creative studio, owned and operated by Afro-Indigenous sisters, Lauren, Leah, and Callie Palmer. Lauren and Leah are the co-founders of The Wild Mother, who have the pleasure of designing alongside their baby sister, Callie.
Together, these three creatives provide a variety of offerings to their clients including but not limited to holiday, large scale, dinner parties, full service wedding and event floral work. Lauren, Leah and Callie share a deep adoration and appreciation for culture, history and storytelling. This deep adoration is evident in the stunning work and art they produce.
We invite you to check out their website where you can learn about “The Eleven Reasons Flowers Matter In The Landscape Of Your Life” composed by the Palmer sisters. There you will find an incredibly insightful written illustration and breakdown of each of the Eleven Reasons; Story, Life, Masculine & Feminine, Balance, Color, Texture, Art, Aroma, Memory, Nostalgia, and Tradition.
These women are a strong force that come together creating authentic moments and experiences curated for human connection and the celebration of individuality. We are inspired by the work and intentionality of these talented artists who pay homage to one’s identity and culture in the work they produce.
ALL THE GOODIES!
Together, Lauren, Leah, and Callie offer a guided online course called “Lay Of the Land”. This course has been curated to educate, empower and build fair-minded brands.
The Wild Mother is a stand out brand that we are grateful to feature and introduce you to this month.
The Wild Mother is a vessel of hope. It’s a vessel for change, for empathy, for support and for allyship. Diving deeper into the harsh and devastating world of injustice, The Wild Mother has created a safe space for those who desire a seat at the table where they can challenge, educate and grow themselves in addition to their understanding and application of empathy. Working to provide tools and actionable steps for leaders and creatives, this course uncovers the ugly truth of learning how to deal with different fears and anxieties that envelop the world. Lay of the Land is a course for those looking to grow their awareness and empathy leadership.
Inside the Lay of the Land course you will gain access to an a Field Book with 80+ pages, 15 videos, a panel discussion replay, 40+ key term definitions for related topics, in addition to an opportunity to arrange a time to meet with The Wild Mother team for a one on one consultation session.
Additionally, The Wild Mother offers virtual workshops that teach skillsets and methods for floral design of centerpieces, personals, bouquets, corsages, installations and more! We highly recommend checking out their website as Lauren, Leah and Callie each bring their own voice and skillsets into the learning series.
Interested in checking out the beautiful work of The Wild Mother? Head on over to their website and check out the “Journal” page to get visual and illustrated sharings on their experiences in business thus far.
To close, what comes to mind when you think of human tradition? The Wild Mother puts it perfectly in stating “sending flowers is our human tradition”.
We highly encourage you to read all about The Wild Mother’s #SendFlowersTo movement. It is a profound vehicle for empathy, lamenting, healing and loss. Flowers hold more power than one might think.
There is much that can be said about the poetic and illustrative work these ladies produce and share with the world. It’s voices like these that ignite change, love and power.
